The Ihana wins the MetropolisLikes NYCxDesign award
Every year in mid-November, New York celebrates creativity and design at the NYCxDesign festival. This year’s edition is special and brings together three fairs and exhibitions at the Javits Center: ICFF, BDNY and WantedDesign. Each of them presents brands and products from the sector from all over the United States and the rest of the world.
From all of them, MetropolisMag magazine has selected 12 products recognizing values such as environmental responsibility, innovation and design creativity. The Ihana lighting system innovates because it allows to create light compositions with a structure that can be extended to include 14 diffusers, connected to a single point of light. In addition, the Ihana features dim to warm technology, which allows not only regulating the intensity of the light, but also its colour temperature, which can vary from a warm white (3000K) to an ultra warm white, simulating candle light (1800K).
In search of the beauty of light, its designer Joanna Laajisto created a sculptural lamp defined by its pure, almost graphic forms, and by the balance between rigidity and fragility. Congratulations to Joanna. Beauty, functionality and innovation are always rewarded.
