Fragile lamp wins Monocle Design Award
The new Fragile table lamp, designed in glass by Jaume Ramírez, has received the Monocle Design Award. This is the third edition in which the London-based Monocle magazine highlights and celebrates the best designs produced anywhere in the world. Awards with the purpose of demonstrating that a well-designed, beautiful and practical object or project engages people and contributes to improving their quality of life.
The editors of this magazine have selected 50 projects and products that follow this approach in the different disciplines of the design industry – from architecture to graphic or product design.
In the words of Monocle, “The Fragile’s effect is to make the actual glowing luminaire the showpiece, appearing as a luminous volume hovering in space.”
At Marset, we received this award as magnificent recognition of a new design presented during Milan Design Week 2023, which we are now launching on the market. Inspired by the archetypal table lamp, Fragile mixes geometric glass figures and emits ambient light. In it, the material is transcendental, revealing the source of light and speaking of purity, lightness and how this design blends in with the scene. Its designer, Jaume Ramírez, uses the language of glass to express the fragility of the present moment.
